Decoding Your Therapy Documentation

This session will provide agency leaders who are not therapists with the tools they need to ensure their agency’s therapy documentation meets the expectations of payers and surveyors. The presenters will focus on the areas of evidence-based practice, outcome measures, and solid examples of skilled interventions and medical necessity.

Myth-Busting Therapy Roles in Home Health

What might be some of the “non-traditional” roles PT, OT, ST play within the home health setting that might not first come to mind to someone that has not had a lot of home health experience? Have you heard from staff: “PTs don’t listen to heart and lung sounds. OTs can’t do a DC OASIS. ST does not play a role in med management.” In this session you will learn how to:

  • Prepare and train your clinicians for accurate functional OASIS scoring.
  • Describe a thorough new-hire and annual training process for home health clinicians.
  • List two unique Scope of Practice Interventions for PT, OT, ST in the home health setting.
  • Describe how therapy can bring value to a home health agency in light of anticipated upcoming payment model changes.
