Each year, May is recognized nationally as Better Hearing & Speech Month, and so in honor of BHSM, I would like to take a moment to thank all of the extraordinary Speech-language pathologists at Aegis Therapies.
This year’s theme, “Communication Across the Lifespan,” is so fitting of the work our SLPs do to help improve the quality of life of the people we serve as you assist in restoring the ability to participate in activities critical to a person’s sense of dignity and connection, particularly later in life.
From assisting with swallowing, to working on speech and communication strategies and everything in between, the work you do impacts what many of us take for granted and what can too often be overlooked in our older and most fragile populations. Your work allows people to participate in activities as simple and meaningful as enjoying a family meal, and by doing so impacts not only the health but overall well-being of every person you treat.
