Boost Your Magic Moments

With all of the resources available today, we have a plethora of tools that can keep us up to date on the latest and greatest fitness trends and programs to help facilitate our wellness “magic moments.” Whether you want to learn more about what a wellness plan could mean for you, or are looking for something entirely new, one important component to not overlook is how you feel about the overall customer experience. Creating meaningful connections with your wellness professionals, whether they are coaches, instructors, therapists or trainers, may be a key element to bridging your self-motivation with successful outcomes.

What do world class companies have in common? Great products — yes — but more importantly, they deliver great customer experiences. What kind of experiences are you having? Is your provider celebrating your wellness and fitness milestones with you? Are they being creative on how to help you accomplish your wellness goals?

EnerG Wellness Tips

  • Make wellness a lifelong journey. Providing your basic health history is important, but do not hesitate to share your passions and what motivates you with your health and wellness team of providers. This may be especially important for older adults who can have many aches and pains that prevent from performing once-loved activities. Creating a commitment promise for yourself and sharing it with a provider may be just the incentive needed to rehab your pain away.
  • How are you tracking and measuring your progress? Consider using a smart phone to identify appropriate applications and fitness tools that will help you stay motivated as well as assist with collecting fitness data. Focus on what lies ahead by identifying small future milestones.
  • Be a friend’s accountability buddy. Help them to achieve their fitness goals and realize their “I wish I could” list, such as running in a fun run or participating in charitable organized events important to them, to showcase your support. By participating in nationwide and community events, you can link the dimensions of wellness together (i.e., social, environmental, intellectual, physical, emotional, occupational and spiritual).
  • Reconnect with traditional fitness equipment at your local community centers and clubs. Quality trainers and therapists make it their first priority to be familiar with not just the functionality of equipment, but identifying the equipment that may make attaining your goal easier by focusing on a positive user experience.
  • Fun needs to make a comeback! No amount of discipline and willpower can replace an experience that is fresh, engaging and really fun. Seek classes and programs that make you smile and that take you back to your childhood.

The one thing I know for sure is that we all age, and that cannot be controlled. What we can control is the ability to make positive changes in our lives in order to live life to its fullest potential. Identifying your “magic moments” on your wellness journey is where it all begins, no matter what generation you fall within.
