Presented by:

Miranda Pool, DOR, graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2010 and earned her Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2011. Miranda is a Speech-Language Pathologist with 12 years of experience in acute and post-acute care settings. She has treated patients in various settings, including schools, hospitals, SNFs, outpatient clinics and home health care. She worked as a therapy coordinator with Aegis for three years, managing a therapy team and mentoring speech therapists. Recently, she collaborated with another director of rehab to create an “SLP Resource Circle” that allows SLPs from all over the state to connect with each other and form a long-lasting relationship. Miranda serves as Director of Rehabilitation and manages five SNFs, one outpatient setting and one acute/swing bed setting. Miranda Pool is a salaried employee of Aegis Therapies with no financial or non-financial relationships to disclose.

 

Brooke Buxton, DOR, is an occupational therapist who graduated from the Medical College of Georgia with a Bachelor of Sciences in Occupational Therapy. She works as an area manager at Aegis Therapies, focusing on CCRC and Home Health transitions from SNF. Brooke supports physical, occupational and speech clinicians in areas related to operations, clinical services, denials management, reimbursement and strategic growth initiatives. With 28 years of active practice, she is an established presenter at professional organizations in urinary incontinence and complex disease management of senior clients. Brooke has clinical experience in acute care, rehab hospital, home health and skilled nursing home settings. She also has faculty experience abroad, where she introduced an occupational therapy curriculum while supervising the clinical delivery of physio rehabilitation to more than three thousand children per month in Iraqi Kurdistan. Brooke Buxton is a salaried employee of Aegis Therapies and has no other relevant financial or non-financial relationships to disclose.

 

Kristen Tisher, DOR, is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who graduated from Elon University in 2015. She joined Aegis in 2016 as a field clinician and has since worked up to become a therapy coordinator and director of rehabilitation for the past three years. Kristen oversees the clinical and operational aspects of several variable-size chains and private customer SNF, 1 CCRC, and 3 EnerG contracts in Eastern and Central South Dakota. Her clinical interest lies in rehabilitation involving neurological disorders and she is passionate about mentoring and developing staff in long-term care advocacy within the skilled nursing community. Kristen has been establishing best practices and advocating for telehealth services across PT, OT and SLP in her area to ensure consistency and continuity of care in the rural markets. She is currently a member of the Aegis National DOR Leadership Council. Kristen Tisher is a salaried employee of Aegis Therapies and has no other relevant financial or non-financial relationships to disclose.

 

Sue Pringle, HR Director, is an experienced HR professional with over 35 years of experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications from Cleveland State University. For the past 14 years, Sue has worked as a strategic business partner with Aegis Therapies, collaborating with leaders to develop their business acumen in operational leadership, PL management, employee relations, succession planning, performance management and leadership development. Sue has conducted several leadership trainings, including Situational Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Conflict Resolution, Change Management and Employee Engagement.
